Abbey's Bio

Abbey is a dedicated registered dietitian passionate about helping others develop healthier relationships with food and their bodies. Utilizing the Health at Every Size framework, Abbey takes a non-diet, weight- and body-neutral approach to nutrition education and counseling. Abbey focuses on personalized, client-centered support and strives to create a warm, welcoming, compassionate space for her clients to share their stories, learn, and grow. She believes in taking small, realistic steps toward behavior change to achieve a sustainable and fulfilling lifestyle.

As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, Abbey takes a gentle nutrition approach to teaching clients how to respect their bodies’ needs while discovering the joys and pleasures of eating. She emphasizes that all foods can be part of a healthy lifestyle and encourages rejecting the diet mentality. Abbey is particularly interested in women’s health, including prenatal, postpartum, and PCOS nutrition, and has extensive experience with eating disorders, diabetes, digestive health, and chronic diseases.

Originally from The Good Life in Nebraska, Abbey is a lifelong fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Abbey earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Metabolism from the University of Minnesota. Following graduation, Abbey completed her dietetic internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center where she gained invaluable experience working in clinical nutrition and public health.

Outside of work, Abbey enjoys spending time with her husband watching favorites like Friends and The Office, cooking and baking, exploring local restaurants and coffee shops, traveling, incorporating joyful movement, reading good books, and cheering for the Cornhuskers and LSU Tigers.
